  1. Are you a morning writer or a night writer? Usually night, but I can write in the morning if I have to.
  2. Do you outline or are you a pantster? It depends. For books under 20,000 words I am a pantster. Anything larger than that, I sketch some type of outline.
  3. Which comes first – plot or character? Character comes first. I find plotting hard; but if I have a character in mind, I can see him or her in certain situations.
  4. Noise or quiet when working on your manuscript? Quiet. I don’t even want to hear the ticking of a clock or the cats walking by my office.
  5. Favorite TV show? Classic show: Little House on the Prairie. Current show: Cedar Cove.
  6. Favorite type of music? Hip-hop.
  7. Favorite craft besides writing? Cooking and gardening.
  8. Do you play a musical instrument? Tried to learn the piano once. Having the left and right hands doing different things was hard enough. As soon as I tried to add in the feet, I was lost.
  9. Single or married? Married to a great guy who doesn’t give me too much guff when the kitchen floor is dirty almost to the point of being sticky because I have a writing or editing deadline.
  10. Children or no? One son and two girls. They are my source of inspiration.
  11. Pets? Three cats we adore.
  12. Favorite place to write? My office.
  13. Favorite restaurant? The Thai Room, Miller’s on the Waterfront, or Big Al’s on the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
  14. Do you work outside the home? No. I’ve worked from home since 2007.
  15. What was the name of the last movie you saw? The Hunger Games.
  16. Favorite outdoor activity? Gardening.
  17. Pet peeve? People who don’t follow the rules. I won’t even go out an “In” door.
  18. Your goal in life? To enjoy every moment.
  19. Your most exciting moment? The birth of my kids; though our wedding day is a close second.
  20. The love of your life? God.
